Where do you find a Pilates System that has been defined and refined for the needs of runners?...
Joseph Pilates did run but he was not a competitive runner. Nor did he train competitive runners.
He applied his genius to the needs of soldiers and dancers.
Most of the world famous Pilates instructors of today (also geniuses in
their own right) come from a dancing background, and are not passionately acquainted with runners and their needs.
There are some good "Off the Shelf" Pilates Programs that are sold to runners, but you need something
special. You need something that is designed for runners...

PilatesRunner is designed and refined for Runners!
So how did I put the PilatesRunner concept together?
- I have a 27 year background in medicine for animals, including racing animals. (I am a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine).
- I read and study Pilates, Sports Coaching, Sports Physiotherapy* and Therapeutic Massage.
- I apply what I learn in my personal practice and experimentation. I've learnt over many
years which sporting recommendations work and which don't.
- I train alongside, and receive the same quality coaching, as some of New Zealand's finest up and coming athletes.
- I also talk with, and train and race alongside Masters athletes. Masters athletes are a source of inspiration
and wisdom, but also who have an increased requirement for recovery and maintenance.
We help eachother. And we learn together.
As time goes on, I will add to the resource material already here. In the mean time, get aquainted with
"TMR" (Training and Maintaining for Robustness).
*I am not a physiotherapist, and make no claim to be one. However, my Clinical Pilates
training has been (and will continue to
be) from the world's finest Physiotherapists, the majority of whom also happen to be Pilates instructors
(see Polestar Pilates).
